International Literacy Day 2020

September 8th is International Literacy Day, a day to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities, and societies. The day is observed by several countries. International Literacy Day was declared on October 26, 1966 by UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization).

International Literacy Day 2020 focuses on "Literacy teaching and learning in the COVID-19 crisis and beyond," especially on the role of educators and changing methods and practices of teaching.
